Internet is about to celebrate its 50th birthday. During this half century, the world wide web has fueled one of the greatest and fastest social revolutions. Enormous amounts of free information at the click of a mouse, real-time communications and virtual relationships are some of  the widest reaching changes experienced since one computer from the University of California connected to another at the University of Stanford (both in the U.S.) in 1969.

These changes were originally driven by the personal computer. However, the internet continues to expand its domain to more and more devices, from cars to refrigerators, imposing its revolution seemingly limitlessly. This new area of innovation is known as the Internet of Things (IOT).

MIT Technology review en español, the magazine published by Opinno, represents the authority of the future of technology. The publication aspires not only to lead the informative debate but also to forecast the potential of technology to revolutionize society. To this end, the publication has signed a media partnership agreement with the IOT Solutions World Congress, which will be celebrated in Barcelona (Spain) from September 16-18th.

The editor in chief of MIT Technology Review, Spanish Edition, Marta del Amo, explains:  “Our presence at this type of events enhances our understanding of technological advances and helps to bring us closer to our readers.” Thus the magazine becomes the official media of the first edition of this meeting focused on the Internet of Things. For three days, the publication will attend and broadcast the most important milestones of the event, which has already partnered with industry leaders like Intel, Microsoft, Fujistsu and National Instruments.

The various panels and lectures will examine the Internet of Things from different perspectives. Public health, transportation and the energy sector are just a few of the subjects to be examined from the perspective of this new area of technological innovation. Opinno, through the publication of MIT Technology Review, Spanish Edition, will echo the most important highlights and the most relevant developments.

Broadcasting knowledge and forecasting the shape that the world of the future will take is part of Opinno´s corporate philosophy. This multidisciplinary company is driven by the belief that technological innovation will drive changes that will improve the world we live in. For this reason, this is not the first time that MIT Technology Review, Spanish Edition will serve as the official media partner for international technological events.

In addition to being the primary media source for MIT Technology Review´s regional EmTech conferences, which Opinno organizes in countries like Spain, Mexico and Colombia, the Spanish edition has been a media partner in other technologically focused seminars and conferences of similar importance. In the realm of virtual reality, the publication covered the most recent edition of the Inside AR event held in Munich (Germany). “It is at these conferences where most innovations congregate and things happen,” Del Amo says. “That´s why it is so important for the press to do its job by broadcasting this valuable information,” she concludes.
